Overview - Grand Hotel Europe
The 5 star deluxe Grand Hotel Europe, an Orient Express Hotel, has played an important role in the life of St. Petersburg for over 130 years. An historical, cultural and culinary landmark renowned throughout the world, during the hotel's long history it has welcomed guests from all over the world including such celebrities as Mstislav Rostropovich, Bill Clinton and Elton John, Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Herbert Wells to name but a few. It is within walking distance of all the major attractions of St Petersburg - the Hermitage, the Russian Museum and the Church of the Spilled Blood among the many historic places of this great city. The friendly staff provide a warm welcome to match the splendour of the hotel facilities.
Grand Flowers, the Grand Hotel Europe's very own florist's shop, provides a wonderful selection of fresh cut flowers and floral arrangements. Grand Flowers is located at the end of the main level corridor next to the Chopsticks Restaurant. We’ll prepare the perfect bouquet for any occasion – or perhaps just a single red rose for that special someone!
Pastry Shop; the Grand Hotel Europe is famous for its delectable pastry creations.
Our patisserie delicacies include almond balls and Sarah Bernard cake, blueberry strudel and New York cheesecake, just to name a few!
Located on the main level next to Chopsticks Restaurant, the Pastry Shop is open daily from 12:00 to 21:00.
Accommodation at Grand Hotel Europe

The hotel’s 89 Standard Classic Rooms vary in size from 16 to 25 square metres and face the inner courtyard.
The 123 Superior Classic Rooms enjoy views of Arts Square and the famous Russian Museum, Nevsky Prospect, or the Philharmonic. Room sizes vary from 25 to 29 square metres.
Classic Rooms have an entrance hall and bedroom with seating area. All have twin, double, or king-size beds, with Swedish duvets and coverlets in clean pastel hues. The rooms are fully equipped with a minibar, television with satellite reception and movie channel, telephone with international direct dial facility and voice mail, writing desk and comfortable armchairs for relaxing.
All rooms are equipped with a safe, air conditioning and a fax modem line. The bathrooms are beautifully appointed with marble floors, a hairdryer and underfloor heating.
Terrace Rooms
High atop the hotel, on the fifth floor overlooking St. Petersburg’s enchanting skyline, are our 17 Terrace Rooms. Terrace Rooms are all double rooms, similar in layout, style and size (20 square metres) to Classic Rooms, with the exception that they are graced with beautiful terraces.
Those facing Arts Square enjoy striking views of the Church of the Spilt Blood, one of St. Petersburg’s most beautiful landmarks. These rooms are especially popular with our guests during summer, when outdoor furniture is placed on the terraces.
Belle Chambres
The hotel’s 19 Belle Chambres retain the generous space and classical style of the nineteenth century. While these rooms vary in size and layout, they are on average about twice the size of the Classic Rooms.
The rooms have parquet floors, spacious seating areas with armchairs and a sofa and large windows facing onto historic Nevsky Prospect - all of which contribute to their extraordinarily light and airy ambience. The Belle Chambres are furnished with antique and period reproduction pieces. The rooms range in size from 31 to 45 square metres. 15 of the rooms are equipped with twin beds, 2 with double beds, and 2 with Grand Lits.
Restaurant and Bars
Dating from the start of the 20th century, the elegantly restored Europe Restaurant features a stained glass roof, five balconies and five recessed dining alcoves along with a menu offering gourmet Russian cuisine. March 2007 - The Grand Hotel Europe's L'Europe restaurant has been named 'Best restaurant in St. Petersburg 2006' in the 'Best Food' category. This interactive award was judged according to the results of voting on the Menu.ru website.
The hotel also offers the famous Caviar Bar, with a classical ambiance and a wide range of caviar and vodka.
Rossi's brings a touch of the Mediterranean with its Italian menu.
Chopsticks is an authentic Chinese restaurant, offering exquisite Szechuan and Cantonese dishes.
The Mezzanine Cafe is a spacious informal area set within the hotel on the mezzanine floor, serving drinks and pastries throughout the day.
The Lobby Bar provides a beautifully restored turn-of-the-century setting and an intimate room next door for meeting friends and colleagues.

We strongly recommend our own transfer service for arrival transfers to the hotel to avoid problems of quality and overcharging – St Petersburg airport terminals have many taxi services with varying standards of price and quality. We will advise a meeting point, meet you with a sign board and transfer you directly to your hotel promptly and efficiently.

January 2007 - Grand Hotel Europe has been included in the 'Gold List 2007', a register of the top 700 hotels and resorts in the world, compiled by 'Conde Nast Traveler' magazine.
The leading magazine of the world's tourism industry, 'Conde Nast Traveler' publishes a list every year of the best 700 hotels and resorts in the world. The register is compiled according to the results of a survey of readers over the whole year.
The Grand Hotel Europe became the only hotel in St. Petersburg to be included in the list of the world's best hotels. This is the second time the hotel's services have been awarded such a prestigious honour.
